Peach and Mulberry Pie
Mormor found a new recipe!! She used mulberries (dut)…
.
.
…and chopped peaches (şeftali), with a little vanilla sugar…
.
.
…popped them into a pastry case…
.
.
…and baked them with a pastry lid…

The pie looks delicious!
It was! Thanks, Hitty friend!
It sounds and looks delicious. Mulberries happen to be my favorite fruit!
It was a very delicious pie – luckily the Hittys shared!
That looks absolutely delicious!
It was very tasty! My new favourite combination in a dessert pie!
Her lovely smiling face reminded me this Morning my Grandmother. She was great in cooking… You really make stories as if my childhood days (too)… This is so beautiful. Yes, dut and şeftali… I loved as always you art work and also I should say this too, your stories and stages with Hittys exactly take a place in Anthropology and Ethnography, maybe between them. Dear Hitty Lady, I am not sure maybe you have a plan for all your work, but this Hitty collection with stories should be, (if I say this sorry but “have to be”) in a precious book series… Even I can see the books in my mind with their amazing covers and pages… Thank you for carrying (our) beautiful days/cultures/etc. to this world and sharing with us…. This smile made my day with şeftali and dut! Seni bütün bu anlamlı değerli sanatsal yolculuğunda tanıdım ve çok seviyorum, hayat verdiğin bütün Hitty lerini de… Love, nia
Dear Nia, you are so kind. This doll is modelled on my grandfather’s sister, she had a sweet kind face and I loved her very much. I am glad you remember your grandmother kindly, and that you like this pie!
loved this entry. Your Mormor is such a treasure. Never thought of mixing mullberries with peaches! I shall remember for next summer. My mother told me that during the depression her mother used mullberries mixed with more tart fruits to make jams and pies in rder to use less sugar. lovely photos as always
That is an interesting memory about sweetening with mulberries. The Quimper Hitty humans are thinking of getting a mulberry bush so we can do further experiments!
