About
I have a number of small wooden dolls, and usually one or another of them is in a pocket or otherwise nearby. They are good company, and amuse me, sometimes I catch them doing interesting things. If I do, I’ll post their pictures here…and if you click on the picture it should take you to the blog post I was photographing at the time.

I’ve enjoyed ending my evening visting with the Quimper Hittys…lucky them… all those new rain coats just in time for more rainy days …. thank you for sharing their little wooden lives with all of us who love knowing the busy little lives they live…. Judy Brown
Dear Judy, I am so pleased that you dropped by, and so are all the Hittys. Rose especially wants you to know that this is a friendly household and she likes it here. The other Hittys are glad to share their amusements not to mention their wardrobe, and Rosie is a hard worker who also likes to have fun so she fits right in. Thanks for sending her this way!
Great post! I love dolls….your Hittys are very dear.
Thank you – the dolls are good company and keep me amused…I am always following them around with my camera.
Hey! I nominated you for the versatile blogger award. You can see my post here http://instillari.com/2012/07/12/a-blogger-award-plus-other-blogs-to-check-out/.
I’m not a doll person – but this is interesting – the faces are soulful and the clothes so nice, with the soft colors & rich textures. The last photo here, with its purple tint and strange aura, is really, really wonderful.
Thanks, Bluebrightly, Your photo blog is interesting too – I love the purple starfish!
What fascinating little dolls. I am sure they are good friends. 🙂
They are very good friends!
Your behind the scenes is so neat. I love this post. Beautiful pictures!
Thanks! It is fun, isn’t it – a whole different world!
I have a Hitty too and love to help her travel but always with me. I am glad you have a real appreciation for these dolls. But why do you call them Quimper Hitty’s? It’s a town in France I am quite fond of.
We have lots of Quimper pottery but have never been to Quimper, France, maybe one of these days!
I always wondered about the name myself, thanks. I love to read the stories and thoroughly enjoy your knack with the camera! It’s my favorite virtual storybook!
Thank you! We love to photograph and tell stories about the Hittys – they seem to have such a droll view of the world.
I admire your work, I guess it doesn’t look like work but like a funny game.
Encantamos a jugar, siempre se puede encontrar la vida divertida.
This is amazing creative world, fascinated me your stages with dolls… Thank you, love, nia
Thank you – it is a funny way to look at the world, but also fun! Constance was carved in Turkey – I left chips of wood in Adana, Sanliurfa, Gaziantep, Mardin and Diyarbakir, and I finished her in Istanbul!
This is so nice, how beautiful you are. Your posts make me excited, Thank you dear Quimper Hitty, Blessing and Happiness, love, nia

Thanks so much for the boost 🙂
This is the first time I’ve looked into “About”…how fun…you’ve brought so much joy my way.
Oh – I am glad! It is so fun to make these blogs, I think the fun of the finished product is only part of why I keep doing this…but it is usually the only thing that other people notice!

Thank you dear Nia, I am honoured that you like my blog so well! It is a way that helps me to see the small beautiful things in the world.
Love ur passion!!!!
Thank you very much Umesh.
I don’t know your name, but I have admired your blog so very much. I take it from the most recent blog that you do your own carving. I am looking to purchase a Hitty with a sweet little smile. You have a couple of them. Do you carve to sell? Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Hi Denise, thank you very much, I am glad you enjoy my blog and the Quimper Hittys. I make some of the dolls, but others arrive here by other means (purchase, gift and stow-away!) I am sorry, but I don’t sell them…I hope you can find a smiley girl somewhere!
Thank you for your response. I’ll keep asking people until I find her. 🙂
Beautiful photographs – Enjoyed this blog
Beautiful photos! So fun to see all the behind the scenes! Thank you for sharing them.
Thank you very much! We are glad that you enjoy our Hittys and our stories too.

how much are this little rockers worth
I am not sure how much they are worth but I have been buying them for under ten dollars at charity shops. I do know that Albert Nadeau is not alive any more, so the only ones exactly like this will be old ones.
Your pictures look magical, so I guess you are a fairy. I will pass by here over and over again to collect some fairy dust. Hope you don’t mind 😉
I think Fairy Dust is sprinkled here when visitors come – so you are very welcome to visit, any time you like 🙂
I’m attached to all things small. Hitty is of special interest to me. Your photos are magical. Thank you for sharing them.
I am glad you found your way here! Thanks for your very kind words.
. Your creativity and skills are amazing. I found your magical world through my blogger pal Nia and am excited like a child to be here.
I am so glad you found your way here, and glad our mutual Blogger friend Nia showed you the way. We have a lot of fun!
