Knitting for Cooky
It’s been a few complicated weeks in the Quimper Hitty human family, but things seem to be levelling off a bit, thank goodness! And yesterday I found time enough to try out a knitting pattern I thought I could adapt for Cooky…
.
.
…the pattern is called the Quickie Dress – and it is quick! Using leftover sock yarn I made dress 1…
.
.
…and Dress 2…
.
.
…and dress 3.
.
.
They are designed for Sylvanian Family critters, but I adapted the pattern somewhat. The pattern knits flat to accommodate various shapes and sizes of tails, but Cooky has no tail to accommodate. So after knitting the bodice section as writ, I joined up the knitting and worked the rest in the round.
.
.
To make the dress long enough for Cooky, I added a few rows of Moss Stitch and a picot bind off.
.
.
And I made a cute little sweater to match adapting the Sylvanian Raglan Sweater pattern…
.
.
Thanks so much to Lulu Wray for the free downloadable patterns on Ravelry, they were just what I had been looking for!

These tiny outfits are adorable, Cooky is going to be the best dressed girl in the Hitty cupboard. I hope all is well now in the Quimper human family.
Thanks! These tiny dresses are so quick to make! Things are calmer now thanks ❤
Beautiful dress, I call dancing skirt, Thank you, Love, nia
Cooky likes to twirl around!
What dear little outfits for Cooky…and what a splendid segway into your knitting again. I’m so glad you were able to take up the needles again after the initial time of complications. Becky J
Complications are so tiring! Cooky is glad I could pick up the needles too, but she is hoping for some bloomers so she can do cartwheels!
Coojy is acquiring a nice wardrobe selection. She looks so cozy in her sweater.
She’s definitely cosy, and we got the sweater finished just in time for a few days of autumn rains!
That’s her winter wardrobe sorted out!
Perfectly! Except we are contemplating a red dress for Christmas!
With a green ‘prickly’ hem?
How wonderful that Cooky has a variety of warm dresses and cardis now the weather is turning brisk. I love your adaptation of my easy-peasy Sylvanian patterns and the picot hemline is so delicate. I’ll write some Hitty patterns this winter – no tail holes!
Thanks! and thanks so much for posting the free pattern – it was a perfect starting point for this tiny doll! Looking forward to anything “Hitty” you may come up with!!
