Pender Island Jaunt 2
After the farm, Holly and Coriander meandered down to Hope bay, where they found…
.
.
…a chocolate shop!
.
.
After they were stuffed with delicious chocolate starfish, candied ginger, mint coconut, and raspberry creams, they felt energetic enough to explore the enchanted forest!
.
.
The girls trotted along the mossy log…
.
.
…and up the steps…
.
.
…to the lookout at the end of the trail!
.
.
On the way back they found some endangered snails…
.
.
…and some Ghost Plants!
.
.
They sat among the beautiful poppy flowers, but then had to run for the ferry…
.
.
…and as they sailed homewards, they snacked and chatted about the amazing time they had on Pender Island!
.
.

The jaunt seemed full of natural and man-made delights.
It was a delightful jaunt! So many fun things to look at (and eat!).
Beautiful place! Thank you so much for sharing!
You are very welcome – we had such a nice time, I am glad you could share it with us!
Wonderful adventures and I hope they didn’t get a tummy-ache from all that chocolate 🙂
Fortunately they only had little nibbles of each, and shared the rest of the chocolate with us!
After reading this and seeing the lovely photos I feel rather enchanted myself. Thank you for taking us along on this adventure. I am now craving gourmet chocolates!!
I wish I could send you some! We love to share, but I am afraid the chocolates might not make it safely to the Country Hittys’ abode!
That sounds a wonderful day out! Well done girls for taking your humans to such an interesting place.
Worth it for the chocolate alone, but all the other elements really added up to a good day, I’d say.
It was a good day! We were all tired at the end of it, but in a pleasant way…The chocolate was wonderful, and there were so many delicious options it was difficult to pick which ones we all wanted!
we had ghost pipes on SSI and with two teens and a business were always running for a ferry. Those chocolates look yummy, nice of the girls to share.
Island life has its own pace doesn’t it? The Ghost plants are so interesting – we saw a bee inserting itself into the funnel part, and backing out laden with pollen.
Those poppies are so pretty, I’ve never seen poppies like that. Your ladies go on the best outings, with chocolate too! Makes me want to see Pender Island next time I visit Victoria, BC.
They are called California Poppies – they are a weed! Self seeding all over this area. I hope if you decide to come to Victoria, you will call on me!
I will next time, but soon you will discover when I catch up on my posts we did during a recent trip to Washington State impulsively stop in Victoria for a day (via the ferry out of Port Angelas) recently and 1 day was way to short a time for your beautiful part of the world 🙂
OH! I am sorry I missed you!
