Spring Wildflowers 4
Viola sp (possibly glabella) surrounding little Eugenia. She feels like a wood fairy!

The Quimper Hittys have gone off on an adventure. Until the beginning of May the posts will show pictures taken on a walk through the Oak Bay Wildflower Garden, and nearby Garry Oak meadows. The Hittys are enjoying the spring wildflowers.

Beautiful. These violets seem the perfect setting for Eugenia.
Eugenia’s introductory post in this blog says she is named for the wood that she was carved from, but I think that Violet or Viola would have been a good name too. It suggests beautiful music, as does she. She is off having a wonderful time on the road trip with many of her sisters, but the house is awfully quiet with nearly all of them gone. Even the cat is subdued.
Well we’re all back now, and the noise level has gone up!
Eugenia is sweet and lovely just like the yellow violets.
Eugenia fits right in with these beautiful yellow violets.
Thanks, Marilyn, she has a sweet personality…and she loves all kinds of flowers.
I want spring! Six more weeks here, sigh…
We feel hemmed in by dark and rain, and February tends to be a damp and gloomy month weather-wise. We always try and find lightening things to do…and luckily for us, the bulbs are flowering despite the weather! I haven’t seen any yellow violets yet, (Feb 2016) but will keep eyes open for them, another sign of spring for sure!
