The girls picked a little bowl full of Mouse Melons, and will invite their sisters to share the bounty!  These are a little bitter cucumber Melothria scabra, native to Central America.  Click here for more information about Mouse Melons. Don’t they look like Hitty Watermelons?  Even though they are green inside, not pink  we think every Hitty Household should grow them!

  1. hmph!! I tried to grow these this year with no success. Kudos to your friend for her green thumb. Great photos…the girls have such fun and look so great on their adventures.

    • My friend gave me a plant which was an abject failure at producing anything, withering away slowly and yellowly. humph indeed. Luckily my friend anticipated my results and grew some for us herself!

  2. Amazing! The Bonsai Hittys are plotting and planning for next year’s harvest of Hitty-sized surprises.
