Rhododendron Garden Ramble
Yesterday the Finnerty Gardens were filled with exuberant Rhododendrons and Hittys…
Carrot Soup lost herself in the gigantic pink bouquets…
…and Tatty tried on the fallen-petal-bonnets…
.
.
…they found pink petals shaped perfectly for their small wooden heads!
It is nice being small!

Wow! The rhododendrons are spectacular! And, the flower caps and bonnets are enchanting! Such beauty….
Those Rhododendron plants are amazing! So many different colours and shapes – really a treasure of a garden – and free!
What clever girls to think of wearing beautiful blossoms as Hitty hats. They are darling!
They love their bonnets – but are a little wistful since they bruise and brown and don’t last very well at all!
WOW! Could these little flower bonnets be any prettier? The QH human has an eye for amazing and fabulous photos. This one is especially wonderful, the kind of photo that imprints on my mind and continues to bring me smiles. Thank you.
Thank you very much – it was fun going to the Gardens with my Hittys to see what pictures would suggest themselves! I especially like the one of Tatty in her giant white bonnet!
Aww! we used to use the rhodo blooms in my mom’s garden for little hats for our dolls. what fun!
They are so perfect aren’t they? I think Carrot Soup was tempted to ask for a flower faerie outfit to match her little hat!
I used your link to read about the garden..what a labor of love! The University has really gone to some lengths with the help of “friends” to save and nurture these lovely plants. YOur photos are great…the girls in their blooming hats…so sweet.
Isn’t it an interesting story – the plants are flourishing now – happily for them and for us! The Hittys have been eyeing those blossoms for years, I am glad this time we were able to get to the garden at the right moment with the camera and dolls and all!
The flowers blooming in Finnerty gs are gorgeous. We have seen the many beautiful gardens in Victoria
through our Alaska cruise information. The Hitty girls in flower bonnets are having so much fun. Thank you for your wonderful posts.

You are so welcome! We are lucky to live in this lovely flowery city, the Hittys just love all the blossoms and gardens.
Very pretty.
Thank you very much! Tatty and Carrot Soup thought so!
