Blackberries!
Gilly and I walked through the meadow to our favourite Himalayan Blackberry patch.
Sometimes the berries are hard to reach…
…and while climbing into the canes got her closer, Gilly was a bit nervous about falling into the thicket.
Luckily she could reach the ones bending down to the grass!
After capturing a berry as big as her head, Gilly hauled it to the picking bucket…
…lifted it up…
and dropped it in!!
We picked five liters of fruit!

Sutton Hittys are standing in line for a piece of whatever you make of these!!! Good job Gilly!!!!
Most of them are already in the freezer, ready for winter cobblers and sauces…We have been sprinkling some of the rest on our breakfast muesli all this week!
Wow! That sounds like enough for several pies. Yum!
It would be! When we make pies, we usually do half apples and half blackberries…
Delicious!!!!!
They were!!!
Sweet little Gilly flower. You are the prettiest flower in the meadow and sweeter than all the berries in the field.
Aw-w-w sweet of you to say so! She can’t help her cuteness…she just turned out that way!
what marvelous berries and what a marvelous little girl picking them! Such lovely photos!
We love blackberries, and little Gilly is having fun in her first blackberry season!
Blackberries are my favorite berry. What fun seeing them gathered by Gilly. Yum.
Gilly had fun picking them, and wants to put some in an envelope and mail them to you!
