Passing Cloud – Around T’aanuu
Tephra soaked up the calm still mornings…
We visited Eelgrass Town, T’aanuu Llnagaay. The watchmen’s cabin with solar panels and satellite dish are near the shore where the old village stood.
.
.
Tephra and Tansy liked finding hollow places in the moss – they sat in a perfect little Hitty-shelter.
.
.
They marveled at the immense beams and house posts of the human shelters – all slowly returning to the mossy earth.
.
.
Everyone climbed up to get a better view of the houses of old T’aanuu.
.
.
.
.
In order to preserve the houses, only twelve guests at a time can visit. We stayed within the shell-marked paths as we walked back to the zodiac which took us back to the Passing Cloud.
.
.
It was hard to convey the feeling of being in that beautiful place, but Tephra and Tansy spent the afternoon in the cabin, trying to describe the senses of soft moss, ancient house posts, joyous birds singing, and Watchmen’s tales…
.
.
…the discussion ended when the wind picked up, the boat started riding the swells and the girls fell over!!

So beautiful! Thank you!
It was beautiful! You are most welcome!
Magical places, mystery and humor….does it get any better?
It was a very restorative trip, altogether. We felt a bit sad in the old villages but also privileged to have the watchmen’s company as they explained the history and traditions of the places. It is very evident that they are deeply connected to these places, and care about and are glad of the chance to teach. We learned so much about the ancient ways of life and about the living culture that is continuing.
I thought the girls were so impressed that they all fell over, but in fact, it was due to the bouncy boat motion.
Our lives are so full of commotion that witnessing tranquility and beauty like this vacation you were on reminds us of our true needs.
Truly! 7 days in that place, and in that company was one of the most restorative weeks of my life! I have a small bundle of tranquility to remember, thanks to all the people I spent it with – Watchmen, Crew of Passing Cloud, other guests, and favourite photographer especially.
