Cat Nights
Vanilla and Tipsy live on the West Coast of Canada, where summer or winter, our evenings are cool. They are snuggled up in their flannel nighties, under a quilt…
.
.
…reading one of their favourite bed time stories – about mice that run wild in a doll’s house. The doll’s house human wants to get a Policeman Doll to chase away the mice, and her nurse wants to get a mousetrap.

Sirius the puppy is rather smug about it being the dog days of summer.
.
.
Dog days or not, every night is a cat night…
.
.
…and they are pretty sure they would have solved the mouse problem better than a Policeman doll, or a mousetrap (or a dog).

Some cats can be good mousers. Have the QH cats proven themselves yet? Sweet narrative.
The Quimper Hitty cats are excellent mousers! They sometimes present their inert little corpses to Jane, who tries to be grateful.
The thought of cool nights sound wonderful about now. The girls look so cozy in their flannel nighties. I find that households with both dogs and cats due very well. We’ve had both for years but now at our age we fear any new pets would outlive us…so we are down to one 15 year old dog.
The Hitty’s in our household make up for that…they have more animals than any zoo. The “Little Bitty Hitty’s” allow all of them in their playroom and it’s so much fun to watch them play.
I agree that Hittys are good at keeping all sorts of pets…our block twins are particularly innovative in making friends with odd animals!
Yes! The twins do make friends with animals. One of my many favorite story lines with them was the alligator that cried tears. I can’t find it but it was a sweet riot.
Sirius is so delightful! What a wonderful addition to the Quimper Hitty cupboard!
He is quite a cute little pup, we all agree!
ahhh lovely cool nights and warm cozy nighties. Love the story and of course the ever alert cat…and yes, Cats do love the night!!
The cats were somewhat affronted that the storybook mice were not dealt with by a cat, but we have assured them that there is a tale of Tom Kitten that they might enjoy…
