  1. It’s so nice to see Perdita out and about with Floradora. Sometimes the “Escapees” are the most fun veggies in the garden. They seem to love playing hide and seek…One year my sister found large beautiful pumpkins underneath some shrubs…and she didn’t even plant them that year. Your garden looks happy and healthy and playful.

    • How fun to discover volunteer pumpkins under the shrubs! We wonder if the mystery squash might be pumpkin, but are still waiting to find out! Perdita enjoyed a little outing, she feels a bit responsible, having been the only really committed Quimper Hitty gardener in the cupboard at least until the arrival of Floradora

  2. the garden looks healthy and abundant – much better than mine. I think you have been taking better care of it down the hill, must be all that fresh sea air. So nice to have the girls to help.

    • The girls are so helpful! We are doing very selective watering here “downhill” and it appears to be giving good results- it is so nice to look out the window and see the lovely flowers and veggies, and even better to see them on the table in vases and on plates!

  3. what a lovely garden and such bounty! Ahhh I see that Jane may be planning some squash fritters? Big favorites with the Country Hittys and their human! Enjoyed the beautiful photos.

    • We have so enjoyed the work of building and maintaining this garden…little Hittys are slightly anxious about getting lost in it at this stage. Luckily they have kept out of trouble so far, though the squash maze is getting more twisty and complicated every day! We are loving the Summer Squash fritters, plateaued thank Cousin Ida for sharing it with us!
