Pip in the May Blossoms

Apple

A little cluster of stamens and pistils is all that is left of this apple blossom…

.

.

Apple

…but there are plenty of tiny fruits developing!

.

.

Apple

Pip is ecstatic – we should have apples this year!

.

.

Quince

The quince blossoms come a few weeks after the apple, but there are plenty of them…

.

.

Salmonberry

…most of the fruit blossoms are busily turning themselves into fruit – like the Salmonberry…

.

.

Black Currant

…and the black currant…

.

.

Gooseberry

…however the Gooseberry is yet again reluctant to earn it’s space in the garden.

.

.

Rhododendron

All this pink exuberance will not turn into edible fruit, but the Rhododendron blossoms are spectacular this year…

.

.

Lilac

…Pip had to have a little nap in the Lilac to recover from blossom overload.

  1. Ah, I can see that the little Pip could be overwhelmed by the abundance of blossoms, but as a bigger human, I’m just enchanted by the bounty of them. Thank you little Pip for extending your visit to these Spring glories for our benefit.
