Sand at the Beach

Morning

A beautiful morning – Tipsy and Sitka ran down to the beach to see what they could see!

.

.

Low Tide

It was a very low tide, just right for exploring…

.

.

Tide Pools

…and climbing around in the tide pools…

.

.

Sea Anemone

…they saw a sea anemone…

.

.

Heron and Oystercatchers

…and birds looking for fish and shellfish to eat…

.

.

Sea Weed

…and many kinds of seaweed…

.

.

Siphons

…and interesting things attached to rocks.

.

.

Sand!!

The strangest thing they saw on the beach was a bag of sand…

.

.

Blue Glass

…their favourite thing was a little bit of blue glass!!

  1. Isn’t it wonderful that you folks in that vicinity of the world, have such varied and rich places to explore? And, you’re always so kind to invite us along with you. I wish you merry exploring!

    • We love the beach, and we are so lucky to live near enough to walk there…the summer tides are really low! I am glad you could come on our early morning walk (low tide was 7:55 am!)!

    • Thanks! Actually I had brought my “real” camera, but left the data card at home 😦 Luckily I had my phone, so I could take the photos I wanted! I am glad the photos make you smile!

    • I do live nearby! Only a five minute walk…we love this little beach but it can be swarming with people and dogs sometimes, though the early morning is usually lovely and peaceful!

      • I envy you your beach. We have lovely ones here but all a 30 – 40 minute drive away which is just long enough to make it an expedition!

    • The little beach is called “Pebble Beach” by locals! There are a couple of patches of sand and a few outcrops of bedrock. We were very surprised to see a little bag of genuine 100% sand from China lying on the beach! Talk about coals to Newcastle!
