Tree Love

…we don’t really know what is going on with the apple trees this year…the first apple dropped off in early July and one by one they have continued to fall just as they get to fist-size. At least it set some fruit, and some of  the neighbour’s fruit trees are behaving the same way. Well, at least these last two apples are hanging on. We expected them to start falling in a couple of weeks.

Never mind, tree – you did your best and we love you!

  1. Our apple trees are seeming to take a rest this year. The last two years there have been bountiful harvest of the fruit, not so this year. That seems typical to have a resting period. But the one apple tree (Macintosh) that looked to have a good yield has been dropping fruit each day before totally ripe-around 10 apples per day. What might they “know” that we have questions about?

  2. You have reminded me to check my trees! The one on the driveway, a cooking apple, had a few fruits and, like yours, they are dropping whilst still only small.

  3. I so love the littles! I am sorry their apple tree has dropped fruit too early. Happy there are still apples ripening on the tree. I really enjoyed the little girls sleeping accommodation…so cute!
