Crafty Calendar 2025 10
Winter rains…
.
.
…the wettest we have seen in a long time! We always get rain in the winter – that is what makes our gardens so lush and beautiful in the summer, but this is too much rain to suit the human, and most of the Hittys feel the same!
.
Of course there are other opinions on the matter…
.
.
…though Gráinne was unable to convince her sisters!
.
.
She rowed off to have a fine old time rowing around in the back garden…
.
.
…while Coriander, Cooky, Arianell and the Christmas Kitty pretended to sail off in the new bowl cosy – Crafty Advent Calendar gift#10…
.
.
Thank you Crafty friends, and thanks especially to our crafty friend and her sister who suggested and organised the Calendar again this year!

Sweeeeet
Aw, thanks!
Picture in the boat is just magical.
They all had fun – in the rowboat and in the pretend bowl-cosy boat!
Grainae looks as tho she was having a glorious time in the rain and wet. And I laughed over the other girls having a rather more dry adventure.
They all had fun, wet and dry both!
We are grateful for the diversity in people/dolls. Different perspectives have helped me to move along in life. I have heard from other sources of your deluge of rains. May your house stay stable and as dry as possible.
We had a lot of work done on drains recently – it was disruptive, expensive and boring at the time, but it should keep us from getting wet from flooding. we don’t live anywhere near where a river could rise thankfully.
That adorable face
Cooky is a cutie!
And this is exactly why we bought a house on a hill. Everything runs downwards and away from us. Having said that, I’d like to install a french drain in front of the chook yard; there’s a small depression there which always fills to ankle deep in the monsoon weather.
There are definitely advantages to not living in a swamp! This area used to have more topsoil over the clay layer which is only a meter down or less in some places. no wonder the water pools up. Luckily we have no river to overflow, and the street drains work well as long as people clear them of leaves.
You made the rainy time seem magical in this post!
The wettest and warmest December in recorded history here in Victoria…we have to look for the magic or be subsumed by the rain. Fortunately Hittys are very helpful that way!
Oh sorry to read it is so moist there! You and the Hittys are doing a great job dealing with it 🙂
