This February photo is of our bird feeder in the winter thicket of our Quince tree. The outer cage around the suet block is made of scrap wire fencing, it keeps the starlings and squirrels from getting in and demolishing the suet. The little birds can still get through the openings. I made the cage structure ages ago and recently had to replace all the diagonal wires, using scrap wire lying about.
The cotton and linen “Shimmer Shawl” turned out really well! After that project, some of the leftover linen yarns went into a couple of bulky little Hitty cardigans…
This could almost be a Scrap Happy post, since I began this project with a ball of German cotton blend yarn and another ball of mystery linen blend yarn, all inherited from my mother-in-law’s stash. The yarns were a similar lavender colour, but neither, I thought, was enough to make a single object (Min interjected here saying that many Hitty cardigans could have been made…)
