Not Icarus V
Þóra has suggested that Min and Raphus will have to find another way to fly. Determined to take to the air with the Dodo somehow or other, Min rustles up a few household odds and ends – a bungy cord, a giant elastic band, a green string net bag and a big red balloon…
.
The ropes need to be balanced just right….
.
Min and Raphus are ready…….. 5-4-3-2-1 Liftoff!
.
Raphus squawks, Min grins and both their spirits’ rise as the Balloon gains altitude.
.
Min hangs on tightly to Raphus’s foot.
.
Min and Raphus join the birds of the air!
.
Airborne at last.

Such a sweet story! Min and Raphus are happy at last.
Very Happy Indeed! Persistence and research was the key!
Quimper Hittys are REALLY alot of fun to read about. The mistress of them is so full of adventure, lore, history, nature, creativity….thanks so much for sharing all of that with us out here in e-land. The flying advenure of “Icarus” has been a fun story to follow.
I am glad you are enjoying the blog – really all I do is follow the Quimper Hittys around with a camera, and hope to catch them doing something interesting!
Always love all your cute and creative pictures. I even want to make a little doll and take pics myself! Loved this post 🙂
Constance was my first wooden doll. I used Judy Brown’s “Carve your own Hitty” kit…Link Here
The picture of Raphus in his balloon rigging may well be one of the cutest things I have ever seen. Min is brilliant to have come up with it! HOORAY!!! I am so happy for them both! Thank you for sharing their adventures. This is so cute! – Miri
There is never a dull moment around here! The dolls have lots of fun! I enjoyed looking at the meanderings of Miranda too, that was quite the trek home from the store!
AWESOME post! How did you do this? I am hoping that eventually everyone returned to terra firma in good condition?
All is well – I hear a lot of chattering coming out of the Hitty Cupboard, and Raphus is safely installed in the woodshed.
Min is amazingly adventurous, and ingenious too. Not to mention cute.
She sure keeps us hopping around here! It must be because she is named after a small hopping bird.
I always knew Min would find a way to fly – Well done Min !!
Min has a gleam in her eye, I am afraid she might have plans to stow away on the next adventure…
Ingenius pair! I’m glad they were able to take to the air (if not to wing). There is nothing like flying. I hope they remembered some ballast.
There wasn’t room for Sandbags, they just had to wait for the Hot air to cool.
Well, sometimes it’s best to let the winds carry you where they will.
I am so glad that Min didn’t fly too close to the sun and I am truly impressed by their flight! Bravo!
No Wax in this contraption!
