What has she been feeding the hens?

Tender-hearted Mary Ann is leaning toward vegetarianism. Why eat the chickens when they make such lovely eggs?

  “Tidal Toys” at the Moss Street Market makes the needle-felted hens and eggs. The egg fits inside the hen and if you give her a little squeeze out it pops!

Those hens seem to be doing a great job of laying. It would be a shame to eat the hens, but what eggs? I doubt the yolks would be as vivid as the shell, but probably tasty whatever colour.
