Dutch Courage
Agathe is worried that the tulips have been hiding because they are afraid to come out, so she has dressed up to make them feel at home…”c’mon little tulips, be brave, see how friendly we are?”
Opal is starting to think that gardening is too much work, and would rather play dolls.
.
.
These clever little wooden girls seem to know exactly what might make a Dutch tulip bloom.
They are trying!
It seems that any opportunity to dress up is welcomed with enthusiasm.
That is certainly true!
Adorable!
Thank you!
Perhaps Agathe could dress up as a Tulip Fairy to welcome the lovely little blossoms? I love her costume and Opal’s dollies!
Maybe she could! I’ll have to think about what a Tulip Fairy looks like. The dollies were from a yard sale!
as a long time (but aging) gardener I think Opal might have the right idea!! Love Agathe’s outfit. I think your girls have an outfit for any occasion!! Great pictures.
I admire gardeners for their perseverance, and their sense of time..My thumb is purple alas, but it seems Agathe may have what it takes! Agathe’s outfit used to belong to a plastic Dutch doll who had seen better days, and has gone to a plastic doll retirement facility.
