St Urho’s Day 2015
A surprise package came in the mail. It contained the wooden kit pieces to make yet another Hitty bed. The Human assembled and painted the kit, then made a mattress for it. Tansy is expecting to find a sleeping cat under the counterpane…

But finds a plague instead.
Constance suits up in her Finnish pest-control outfit and declaims the magic grasshopper-banishing poem: Heinäsirkka, heinäsirkka, mene täältä hiiteen….
Constance and Tansy are glad to have had another successful St Urho’s day.
Or so they think…
Happy St Urho’s Day!

This is another quaint narrative from the QH household. Constance’s fortitude leads the way, once again in banishing the challenges of the day.
I wish I had a magic pest-repelling invocation!
Another St. Urho’s Day is successfully celebrated! Congrats to Constance and Tansy. I am happy that this particular grasshopper was somewhat smaller then last years behemoth!! Way to go girls..
Grasshoppers come in all sizes, and the girls are glad too, that this year’s plague was small!
I love the finnish pest control outfits!…and the grasshopper!!….and the Hitty kitties!! Marvelous!
If only the outfit and incantation would work against carpet beetles and clothes moths!
