Trip South
A few of the Quimper Hittys went on an expedition to Oregon last week…After a ferry ride and a long drive, the human stopped overnight in Port Townsend at this splendid old Bed and Breakfast.
The girls decided this feature was designed just for them!
The Hittys all enjoyed staying in the lovely old building, and the human enjoyed the break in travel, the pleasant proprietors Sue and Ron, and the delicious breakfast. Click Quimper Inn for a link to this very fine establishment.
Because of forest fires in Washington State and Oregon, the views on the road south were somewhat obscured by a terrible smoky haze. The darkness extended even to the rocky promontory at our destination, but it did make for a very pretty pink sunset!
For the next few days, while the human dulled her carving knives on lumps of olive wood, the Quimper Hittys entertained themselves by clambering around on the furniture…

can’t wait for an introduction to the new Hitty.
Coming soon… 🙂
How fun to find an Inn with the name Quimper in it!! The girls must have been ecstatic!
They were – we HAD to stay there!
What a gorgeous, and perfectly named, inn! And, how exciting that we are going to be meeting a new Quimper HItty! I am looking forward to meeting her!
The new doll is looking forward to meeting all of you too!
what a perfect inn for you and the girls. And a new addition to the cupboard!!! how exciting…olive wood eh?? And are those fancy shoulder joints I spy??? can’t wait to meet her!!
It was the perfect Inn, and in a nice location – I hope we will return some day!
I adore the “almost home” picture. Aside from being a favorite slogan of mine, this is a fabulous picture of the new girl in her trademark pose.
I imagine you can sympathise with the almost home feeling quite often. I am glad you liked the picture – she was a breathing the fresh air, and anticipating the Hitty cupboard and meeting some new friends.
