Planting Bulbs
A Wet November…
.
… doesn’t prevent Eugenia and Min from going out to help plant some spring flowers.
They both are happy to give the Quimper Hitty human a hand…
…even though it means getting dirty!
And then with the bulbs planted, fingernails scrubbed, and chair re-positioned…
… all they have to do is wait!
Opal and Agathe did not have much luck last year getting tulips to grow indoors and have given up gardening. We are hoping for better luck with these outdoor bulbs. We planted mostly miniature varieties of narcissus, Iris and Grape Hyacinth because they are Hitty-sized (six inches/15 cm!) but we couldn’t resist the “Yellow Cheerfulness” (16 inches/40 cm) narcissi because of the name!

Cheerfulness in any color sounds good to me… Although yellow and sunshine do strike a chord! What wonderful thoughts and hopes it will generate in the deep of winter!!!
We are very excited about the yellow cheerfulness!
Yellow Cheerfulness will be just the thing in those gray days of late winter. Fortunately, little wooden ones can be quite patient when they need to be.
Grey days can seem to go on for much too long…I think Eugenia could teach Min something about patience!
May they bloom merrily where they are planted!
We hope for many lovely blooms, and no deer!
We’ll look forward to Spring with the Quimper Hittys – sounds like a very festive combination!
The Quimper Hitty gardeners are looking forward very hopefully!
Min is thoroughly enjoying planting those bulbs. Eugenia maybe more like a lady, but Min does not mind the dirt at all – Look at the smile on her precious face !!!
They both had dirt under their fingernails and on their pinafores!
Wishing the little ones great luck with the bulbs. Now for patience….ahhh patience…as we all wait for spring.
Fun photos, as always!
We all hope for spring flowers – it was kind of nice to be planting the bulbs in the middle of a wild rainstorm, thinking of the milder spring to come.
