I’ll have to admit…low ceilings and too much testosterone at the dining table compelled me to banish our first real Christmas Pudding (from the Pie Society) to the patio for it’s ignition. Skepticism and wonder caused the boys to light it up twice, of course. Hitty Hedydd had to watch through the glass, after spending the day standing watch over the pudding. I am using your post as a reference for next year…it CAN be done with no harm to Hittys!
She’s enjoying this dress which is both cosy and pretty. I made it in a knit-along some time back, and it didn’t turn out the way I thought, but is nice anyway.
You captured that flamboyant flame so well…and Constance didn’t seem to bat an eye at the spectacular sight. A beautiful finish indeed.
Flamboyant flambe! yes, Constance is used to exotic flames including Lucia day candles on her head, so she didn’t worry about this ritual.
Yum, plum pudding is one of my favourites!
This one was delicious!

This was our middle child’s first experience as the flamer of the pudding – he did it really well – no Hittys were harmed!
How dramatic!! A true ending to remember. I am also very admiring of Constance’s frock. Perfectly attired for any occasion is our dear Constance.

Oh my GOSH! Stand back Hittys! That looks dangerous!!
Brandy ignites at 26 degrees C and wood at 150 degrees, so it makes a good photo but It is way more dangerous-looking than actually dangerous!
Yummy Christmas Pudding – Love this British Tradition
It was delicious!
