Mayne March 2
Our Edith Point trek was quite a distance for small booted wooden legs, but Gráinne kept up, and kept her eyes open for piratical opportunities.
The path required a certain amount of scrambling, Parrot happily squawking encouragement…
…further along, Gráinne reached for her cutlass when she saw huge teeth at the side of the path. Somewhat to her disappointment, the Eagle’s lunch-leavings didn’t require any further dissection.
At last Gráinne and Parrot reached the tip of Edith Point…
…where the sun came out and the waves crashed into the vug-ridden sandstone. They watched the crashing from a safe distance!
After making our way back to our friend’s house…

What a restful time you all had.
It was a welcome diversion, and we had a lovely day!
That is big adventure for such a small pirate!
She especially liked the giant salmon mandible!
Wow! what glorious wildness! Perfect for brave Grainne!
It was glorious! We really enjoyed our walk!
Grainne’s pirate outfit is the best. What a beautiful adventure she had.
Gráinne didn’t feel like a proper pirate until I made her the coat and hat!
thank you Grainne and Parrot, makes me want to get on a ferry and visit an island. Lovely pictures.
Mayne Island is a lovely place to spend a day (even with getting up at 4 am to catch the ferry!)
Seems the perfect cookie for a parrot – very kind of him to share. Thank you for such gentle adventures.
Parrot liked the coco and Hazel nuts! We were happy to demolish the leftovers!
oh how I love seeing Grainne in all her regalia…and of course with her Parrot sidekick. Great pics! What a wonderful get away adventure for humans and small wooden folk.
It is a very reviving kind of place to visit. Gráinne was in her element, and Parrot is happy anywhere if Gráinne is nearby!
