Rosemary Kumquat Cinnamon Garland
Five Dalahäster gazed upon nine kumquat pomanders…it sure takes a lot of cloves to make these, and they wondered what ever happened to the rest of the kumquats when the cloves ran out???
We sliced and dehydrated them!
The horses gazed upon Amelia and Aurelia as they heaved cinnamon logs around!
It was a two-Hitty job to saw the cinnamon logs into 1/2 to 3/4 inch sections!
We picked Rosemary twigs from our flower pot garden, and assembled the bowls of garland ingredients!
Amelia wielded the leather-needle, threaded with cheerful red string…
Aurelia passed up the kumquat slices…
How beautiful they look with the daylight shining through!
A good day’s work!

I think I’ll call Aurelia and Amelia “The Dynamic Duo “. They could teach Martha Stewart a few new tricks. That photo of them cutting cinnamon sticks with the saw using a miter box was the limit. Their finished Christmas hanging was beautiful.
Ha ha – they loved cutting the cinnamon in the Miter box and the cinnamon sawdust too! It made me laugh to see them at it!
Absolutely awesome, Aurelia and Amelia!
More marvelous Müttersholz messages!
Your words, responses mean a great deal to me…thank you.
You constantly amaze and delight me! Wow…. a miniature miter box and saw- what a treat! The garlands are exquisite- I imagine that the scent is wonderful! Amelia and Aurelia truly are enchanting.
The Miter box was full-size! But the cross-cut saw is Hitty-sized!
beautiful – Aurelia and Amelia and the scented hangings.
Thank you very much, we thought so too!
They look absolutely gorgeous hanging in the window!!
We loved how they look with the sun shining through the oranges, they positively glowed!
What a wonderful idea for Christamas garlands-colorful and sweet smelling, too. Merry Christmas from us at Sixes Community Hittys.
Why are the horses called ” Dalahäster”?
The (häster) horses are made in the province of Dalarna, hence the name.
Thank you! We like how they turned out!
Thanks,
Celia
Oh my how delightful!! From the first scene to the last…just wonderful. I think I can smell the fragrance of your garlands!
They were delightful to make, delightful to look at and to sniff! Our new favourite decorations!
Beautiful! And I bet they smell wonderful!
They smelled delightful while making them – I have hung them in a window for now so they are a little too far for our noses to reach, but the memory is sweet and spicy!
