Rocker
The Quimper Hittys are lucky enough to have three rocking chairs made in Quebec by artisan Albert Nadeau. One was given to us by our friend the Dollhouse Lady, and we bought two more chairs by the same artist in a consignment store, even though one of them came with a broken rocker!
We enquired of the Dollhouse Lady if she knew Mr Nadeau personally, as we hoped to get a replacement rocker. Sadly, Mr Nadeau had died a few years ago, but miraculously, the Dollhouse had known him personally, and she had a spare rocker which she sent us

Rose has been clutching the rocker tightly ever since it arrived at the Quimper Hitty Cupboard, but this weekend the human finally had a moment she could dedicate to furniture repair!

What a wonderful piece of serendipity that your good friend has the perfect replacement. They are really wonderful rocking chairs. The Country Hittys are very impressed.
We were so happy to have just one rocking chair! It was absolutely amazing to find two more, and then getting a spare piece from my friend was positively miraculous!
How lucky that the Dollhouse Lady had a spare rocker! Who would have known!

It was very lucky! The Quimper Hittys are quite happy, and looking forward to having three intact and beautiful hand made Quebecois rocking chairs.
How perfect! That’s wonderful!
It was exactly perfect and wonderful – quite magical in fact! I am still amazed at the way the story and the rocking chair all added up!
It is such a delight when everything comes together in perfect harmony!
So glad I could be of service!!!! You did a wonderful replacement job!!! Now the girls can rock 😂
You are a magical friend! You wave your magic wand, and things just appear! Thank you so much – Rose rocked very gently on the broken rocker but thinks rocking without the worry further damage will be even more satisfying!
How wonderful…you have a lovely friend in the Dollhouse Lady.
It was unbelievable to get the exact perfect rocker…I am lucky to have many lovely Hitty friends!
They’ll be perfect for a spot of reading or knitting.
They sure will, especially with a pot of tea close by!
What a beautiful rocking chair and how lucky you were to get a replacement rocker for it. Lucky Quimper Hittys.
Quippier girls are fortunate to have three of Albert Nadeau’s rockers. I believe my hittys have two and they love them. Looks like one of those rockers belongs to Rose…..She sure is a pretty JB hitty
