Chicken Scratch
The Quimper Hittys received some beautiful blue gingham – Patience was alarmed when the hen enthusiastically scratched around in it…
…but Patience is wearing the result of the chicken’s scratching!
Thanks to our Hitty friend who inspired the “Chicken Scratch” Embroidery project!

You are amazing. Magic comes from your hands.
We like turning little pieces of fabric into presents for the Hittys – happily the chicken was in the mood to help!
That chicken is surely talented! Lovely work, little feathered lady.
I was thinking the back looked a lot more like chicken-scratching than the front…hooray for chicken-scratching!
Interesting that you had this post today. I am going to start to make my first piece of chicken scratch. Timing is everything as now I am inspired to truly get started. It isn’t for Hitty as I wanted to work on a bigger piece first.
That sounds like a fun plan! I am glad the Hitty-knitters came up with this project!
You are a fount of knowledge, and I love how you translate it into such charming Hitty accoutrements!
Tank you very much – this was a new technique for me – but I do like the result!
This is a beautiful bonnet. How do you come up with such lovely ideas?
Patience thinks so too – I am not sure where the ideas come from, I think it is often a little sideways leap that I can’t figure out myself.
It appears your chicken has magic in her feet! It’s a pretty bonnet – so fresh!
I love blue and white gingham! Patience thinks a magic-footed chicken is almost as valuable as a goose who lays golden eggs!
This bonnet is just so pretty! Great work by the Quimper Human and that talented chicken! Marie Claire is very impressed and is now trying to teach her hens to do this.
Thank you very much – I especially like the opportunity to slip in some rickrack!
Marie Claire has hens of all ilks – I bet there is at least one in her flock who could oblige!
