Tansy visits an old homestead 2018
When Tansy and her favourite photographer visit Haida Gwaii it usually to learn about long ago people, but sometimes they explore places where people lived recently…
.
.
This seems to be the remains of a smokehouse…
.
.
…and this old cabin is kind of cute, but not really safe to enter…
.
.
…but no wonder people wanted to stay in places like this!
.
The woods are quiet and soft, with shells and bones left by other visitors – human and non-human…
.
.
…and there is lots to eat if you know where to look.
.
.
The lagoon is beautiful…
.
.
Tansy stayed and contemplated as long as she could.

It’s great to see Tansy surrounded by such beauty and history. Thanks for the link to the map of the group’s present location.
Tansy always learns a lot, but also comes home infused with the memories of this amazing place…which is some times calm, some times wild, but always being itself.
I’m enjoying Tansy’s adventures, lucky Hitty to travel to such beautiful places.
She is so lucky! I am lucky to have been able to visit last year so I can remember some of the actual places she tells me about, and imagine the rest through the amazing photographs and descriptions that come home with her!
Tansy had a wonderful adventure exploring an old homestead. And yes I agree it is not wonder someone wanted to live there!!
It seems a lovely tranquil spot – Tansy was glad to get a chance to explore around a little bit before hopping back into the zodiac and returning to the Passing Cloud!
