Lucia Day 2019
Mormor has made some cookies…
.
.
… and she invited Arianell and Eugenia to a morning feast!
.
.
These cookies are made with our historic family pepparkakkor recipe…Arianell loves them!
.
.
Eugenia was concerned that the Dalahäst would be nervous about eating Dalahäster cookies…
.
.
…but he had no such qualms…
.
.
Mormor thought a few crumbs were worth the jolly morning coffee party!
Today is Lucia Day in Sweden…the human is preoccupied at the moment with a matter requiring that she do her civic duty…there will be little time for baking lussekatts or playing with Hitty for a couple of weeks. Hopefully the matter will be resolved by the 20th of December!
.
.
.
Yay for Mormor! She is kind and understanding! Family traditions are so wonderful and the pepparkakkor look delicious.
The Hittys report that the pepparkakkor truly were delicious!
Ahh_ What a wonderful story. Can’t imagine the Quimper cupboard without Mormor anymore…she adds such a warm and loving presence to all the sweet Hittys. The Dala horse and cookies look scrumptious, my Swedish Grandmother used to bake cookies that look just like Mormor’s.
Funny, I can’t imagine the cupboard without her either! We all just love her, her kindness and her relaxed attitude!
Mormor is such a good grandmere. The cookies looks scrumptious. Good luck to the Quimper Human with her civic duties. We will miss you and look forward to your return.
I think Mormor is fitting in quite well – everyone loves her (and not just because of the cookies!).
Duty calls – and I must reply!
I hope the civic duties are fulfilled – it is now the 20th – and that fun can resume! ♥️🎄♥️
First, a breather, but yes – now the fun!
