More Growing
Min is trying to measure the Gravenstein Apple Tree, but her ruler is too small…
.
.
…never mind…she climbed up the trunk with a bit of string…
.
.
…and met the measuring tape at the top! The little tree is a foot taller than the sunflower! …
.
.
…and look!
.
.
The one and only apple is growing too! It is ten inches around, and almost three inches in diameter!
.
.
It is a bit silly, a great big apple growing at the very top of a stick of a tree, but Min thinks it is exciting…
.
.
…she ran inside before the sprinkler went on!! We are so lucky that we can water the garden, though only two days a week in compliance with the local summer watering restrictions.

May the Gravenstein’s small beginnings be a sign of many more apples to come. Thank you Min, for taking us along on your mission of discovery.
We are so amused by this one not so little apple…and hope our tiny tree can sustain it until it is ripe! Min is always cheerful and happy to get out to play in the garden!
your little apple tree with the very large apple makes me smile…as does the darling Min!!
Min can’t help herself – she makes people smile wherever she goes, and who could help being amused by our enthusiastic tree!?
Min is so clever – and cute, love her blue buttons and trim. Now who gets to eat that one apple?
We think the apple is big enough to feed the entire Quimper Hitty clan – just hoping a raccoon doesn’t get it first!
Fascinating… And also the last photograph amazing. Thank you, Love, nia
Thank you Nia, the water-sprinkler isn’t the most efficient, but it makes beautiful patterns so we keep using it!
