Another Maine adventure
On a beautiful sunny Maine morning…
.
.
…we travelled a little distance to visit a sweet Hitty-sized village…
.
.
…in the lovely little fishing town of Stonington. Isn’t it a delightful idea for people to take a house home for the winter?!
.
.
This B&B appears to have lots of tea cups and saucers – Constance is sure we would have been comfortable staying here!
.
.
And the grocer’s shop (though not yet swept free of its rain splatters) seemed to have lots of variety…
.
.
…and there are several sweet homes, a motel in case the Bed and Breakfast is full up, a church, a schoolhouse…
.
.
…of course we had a very nice little home to return to in the evening, but it was reassuring to know that the Hittys would be comfortable in case we had had to spend the night in Stonington!

What fun, especially for the QHs, to see such a pleasant little village that could easily accomodate them.
The little village was a complete surprise to us! The big village of Stonington was very nice too, with little shops and cafes, a wharf where the fishing boats unload their catches, and a lovely view out to sea.
This looks like a wonderful adventure for the Hittys! I’m sure they will remember it for years to come!
They will remember it! A lovely little side trip, with plenty of sweet memories!
what a cute little village and what a good idea that the community looks after it in the winter.
It was such a nice little village – we loved all the different little structures, and all well cared for and obviously a delight for the winter caretakers…we wonder if they have Hittys?!
that little village is wonderful. And to think of people taking home the different houses and shops to keep them safe over the winter. Lovely!!!
We just love the idea of people taking the houses home over the winter! The Hittys wished we lived a little nearer so we could volunteer!
