Advent Calendar 2023: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
This is the fourth year I have participated in a Crafty Advent Calendar, where crafty people each make 24 little gifts, exchange them in late November, and then open a different one every day up to the 24th of December…
.
.
The Hittys and I love the thoughtfulness and creativity of the crafty people who participate!
.
.
Our first gift was a wee garden gnome, made by me with materials mostly from the gardens in my neighbourhood: a little Garry Oak acorn cap; a hunk of lichen found on the ground after a storm, (not plucked from trees); a pine cone from a neighbourhood tree – wee gnome boots from Star Anise seed pods; and a felt ball from a women’s collective in Nepal…(and green chenille stems from the craft drawer)!
.
.
The second day was a very tasty salted chocolate treat…
.
…and the third day brought us delicious home made peanut brittle!
.
.
December fourth we got a sweet treat that looks like a frosty, wintry forest floor…
.
.
…and on the fifth we got a big stack of shortbread – YUM!
.
.
Thank you crafty friends! And special thanks to our crafty Christmas Angel who has organised us for this year and the previous three – such fun and so cheering!

What a beautiful craft project, Every year coming up! So lovely, Thank you, Love, nia
We like this project – so full of the kindness and warmth of our friends!
Yes, how very cheering these thoughtfully created gifts must be for you and because of your generosity, your sharing them with us. Your little garden gnome is a great addition to these days of advent too. Thank you so much for letting us enjoy these gifts with you. Becky J
The project does seem to bring forth generosity and fun, we are happy to share and inspire!
How lovely! and I love the Star Anise shoes! Inspired!
We loved their little pointy toes!
So cute, creative and clever 🙂
Wonderful
We think it is wonderful fun!
What a lovely idea!
Isn’t it delightful!? We are really enjoying it…
How much nice to have home made sweet treats in an Advent calendar than nasty commercial fatty chocolate.
It is very much nicer! and I like the smaller quantities, doled out one day at a time!
what a very fun exchange! So many little gifts..a surprise every day. Your little pinecone person is a treat! Love those little shoes and his wee scarf.
A little surprise every day is lovely for me, and I like to imagine all my crafty friends helping to make these sparks of joyful fun – my internet Hitty friends enjoying it too just doubles the delight!
