Overcoming Disaster
Could there be a worse time of the year for the oven to go kaput?

What a disaster!

Thank goodness there are kind neighbours with functioning ovens, where we baked two batches of cookies…
.
.
…and relatives who instantly mailed a care package…
.
.
…so we could have Lucia buns…
.
.
…and one (just one!) stove in the warehouse, kind delivery and installation people, and time to connect it all up almost right away.

Jane was nearly overcome by the near disaster, but delighted with her shiny new stove. Although the cat didn’t enjoy all the trampling about and disruption, she was sure it would all turn out ok.
Based on real events in the human household – thanks so much to everyone who helped overcome the trouble and strife.

Loved Jane handling this. The perfect HITTY for the job.
Things happen. Glad all is well
Thank goodness we didn’t have to deal with Hysterics on top of everything else! Jan is full of aplomb (though she may have dipped into the Christmas Brandy to help her through this event)!
Glad all is good now in the Hitty Household ♥️
Yes, Phew! The worst imaginable time for the oven to become unusable!
Oh my, the feelings that must have been boiling away and heating up in and out of the Hitty cupboard, at such a rotten time of the year for disaster to strike. So glad there’s people like Jane and the neighbourhood. Glad that disaster sometimes can bring a wonderful opoortunity for a real belssing to the household(s).
We did count our blessings! And are happily baking away in the new stove! The last thing we baked was the Stollen, so we decided the first thing should be another one – as a test!
Yes, grateful that your kitchen scenario worked out so well. It must have been discombobulating though initially. Becky J
It was very alarming – visions of charred and raw Christmas dinner danced in our heads for a while! Thankfully all is well!
oh my what a near catastrophe!! I am sure that poor Jane was quite overcome but so happy that a swift replacement was made!! This is certainly NOT a good time to be without an oven!! Sweet that a care package was dispatched…and glad that real events in the human household also worked out nicely!!
Thankfully all is now well in the human and Hitty households – we have a bit of catch-up baking to do, but the alternative would have been dreadful!
Phew, what a disaster that would have been without the kind relatives. The Christmas season is so bake-heavy, isn’t it?
Bake-heavy, yes. A good way to describe it! A lot of things come from our kitchen that are important to make it feel like Christmas!
Glad you all have functioning stoves and that rescuers appeared when you needed them. Enjoy your baking and eating.
Yes, thank goodness for friends and relations who care and pitch in! And friends who care and sympathise but live far away!
Those people are so precious
