Overcoming Disaster

Disaster!

Could there be a worse time of the year for the oven to go kaput?

Disaster

What a disaster!

.

.

Neighbours

Thank goodness there are kind neighbours with functioning ovens, where we baked two batches of cookies…

.

.

Relations

…and relatives who instantly mailed a care package…

.

.

Lussekatter

…so we could have Lucia buns…

.

.

New Stove!

…and one (just one!) stove in the warehouse, kind delivery and installation people, and time to connect it all up almost right away.

.

.

Sniff

Jane was nearly overcome by the near disaster, but delighted with her shiny new stove.  Although the cat didn’t enjoy all the trampling about and disruption, she was sure it would all turn out ok.

Based on real events in the human household – thanks so much to everyone who helped overcome the trouble and strife.

    • Thank goodness we didn’t have to deal with Hysterics on top of everything else! Jan is full of aplomb (though she may have dipped into the Christmas Brandy to help her through this event)!

  1. Oh my, the feelings that must have been boiling away and heating up in and out of the Hitty cupboard, at such a rotten time of the year for disaster to strike. So glad there’s people like Jane and the neighbourhood. Glad that disaster sometimes can bring a wonderful opoortunity for a real belssing to the household(s).

  2. oh my what a near catastrophe!! I am sure that poor Jane was quite overcome but so happy that a swift replacement was made!! This is certainly NOT a good time to be without an oven!! Sweet that a care package was dispatched…and glad that real events in the human household also worked out nicely!!

  3. Glad you all have functioning stoves and that rescuers appeared when you needed them. Enjoy your baking and eating.
