December Lurgy
Constance and the Quimper Hitty human have been under the weather (and the blankets!) for a few days…
.
.
…but the dreadful Lurgy is finally ebbing…
.
.
…Constance says that tea with honey, a good book and a cat are the best medicine…
.
.
…it must be winter!
.
.

Oh poor Constance and human! I hope you recover quickly.
Apparently this is not one of the “quick: ones, almost a week later and still feeling quite lacking in ooomph. But more tea with honey, more cats and some nice music on the radio is helping.
Oomph can be very good at hiding. Take car and enjoy the rest as much as you can.
It’s good to hear that you and Constance are feeling the “ebb” of the lurgy. Sounds like you have a super combination of helps during this time.
We do have helps and helpers…a couple of the other humans in the house have tossed me an occasional digestive biscuit, etc. and the Hittys are models of patience.
I am so sorry that the Dreadful Lurgy has been stumping around the Quimper home and hearth! I wish you all a happy speedy recovery! ❤
Thanks very much. We got all the Lurgy prevention potions and so are quite amazed at the severity of this bout. Have to admit I am not going anywhere very speedily at the moment, but mostly trying to stay warm and hydrated.
I am sending you all kinds of healing energy and gentle soothing hugs! Hope you all recover quickly ❤
I am so sad to hear this, I hope and wish you get well soon dear Hitty Lady and Lovely Constance. I wished I could do something for you, but as you mentioned tea with honey, a good book and a cat are the best medicine, this is great, and it should be working… Much Love, Thank you, nia
Thank you nia, the good medicine honey, tea, cats and books are nice but I hope it doesn’t go on much longer!
oh no! wishing you both a quick recovery.
Thanks onesmallstitch, surely we are on the mend now, even if it doesn’t quite feel like it…I am just so glad that my housemates and the friend I gave a ride to don’t seem to have caught it!
Feel and be better soon. Hugs
Thanks so much…and a hug through the electrons is not at all contagious so, accepted.
oh yuck,, the dreaded winter Lurgy!! Hope you both recover quickly. I must say that Constance is lying beneath a gorgeous quilt! That would brighten anyones spirits!
Yes, the dreaded Lurgy caught me by surprise! Ugh. I like Constance’s quilt too! It is definitely a spirit-brightening item, formerly a garment that I took apart and re-sewed for her!
Get better soon. Personally I recommend a hot greyhound on either side of you, as they stay hot, unlike a hot water bottle, but they can be a bit bony and are not very readily available at short notice. I hope you are well enough to enjoy some good books with your hot tea, honey and lemon.
The cats, (body temperature 39) one on each side of me, are warm, and not bony in the least, but they get quite huffy if I wriggle or cough too much. I am pretty sure they would not approve of a greyhound addition to Quimperland…
That is the sweetest looking “under the weather” I’ve ever seen! I love the bed and all the accessories. Great photos and I hope Lurgy continues to be on the mend!
Sorry I meant Constance (and yourself). Not sure why I typed Lurgy – yikes!
Thank you…I think we’ve turned the corner at last!
