Camas Meadow Walk
Floradora and Coriander went on a hike…
.
.
…on a little trail through the forests and meadows…
.
.
…to a hill where the Camas blooms.
.
.
.
It is such a beautiful wildflower…
.
.
…growing in the glades beneath the Garry Oak.
.
.
The girls walked to the lookout rocks…and saw the rain clouds approaching!
.
.
Sheltering under a little oak tree…
.
.
…Floradora got out the tea, and they rested a while and waited for the rain to ease…
.
.
…before skipping back up the trail.

When I first saw your pictures I thought they were of bluebells which grow in similar places here and are just coming into flower. What a lovely walk Floradora and Coriander had!
We have some naturalised bluebells too, but these are the native wildflowers in the area. It was a lovely walk!
Spring flowers are so gentle. The camas are beautifully matched with those long swords of green grasses. We have something similar here with the purple violets blending in with their lusciously colored green leaves. floating in the yard’s grasses.
The flowers do float in the grass – It is a beautiful time of year, just so pretty in the wild meadows under the trees, and a sprinkle of rain to keep things fresh!
such a calm and peaceful respite in the midst of a storm.
We are so lucky here in Victoria. The camas meadows this time of year are a balm where the sturm and drang of the world are outside the bubble of spring hopefulness.
what a lovely hike! that thermos is really great. I enjoyed seeing the wild flowers and the marvelous view from the tip!
We love the view from here…there is a feeling of calm and expansion – horizon-viewing is a good way to get perspective!
Beautiful! I want to join them on their walk!
We would love to have you…if you ever come back to Victoria, please let me know!
Thank you, I would need to borrow a Hitty for my pocket though 😉
I would happily lend you one!
