Hitty Perdita
This doll was carved by doll artist Gustavo Trullet who lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is made of a Palo Santo wood which is very dense and heavy, a dark green colour and has a heavenly scent. She came to live with us in 2010, and I named her Perdita, which means “lost little girl”. My son asked whether she was given this name because she is a “purdy little thing”, or because the story Hitty kept getting lost all the time. Both are true, but actually, I just liked the name.

Hugh takes great photos. Perdita is so lovely 🙂
Yes, she’s lost in thought, a pensive doll.
The name Perdita suits her just fine. Good choice for a name.
Thanks very much, she seems happy with it, and so far, not prone to getting lost.
Wonderfully evocative photo!
Yes, Perdita always looks a bit lost to me.
