Hitty Fern
Fern soaks up the sun
Fern is a shoulderhead Hitty doll. Like Carya, her head was sculpted by Sara Cole then cast in resin. I sewed the body out of dyed muslin, then painted her face, hair, socks and shoes. I called her Fern after one of my three grandmothers. Fern went to live with a little girl in the summer of 2012, and is now busy having adventures of her own. The last I heard, she was busy climbing up and down the stairs with her two friends Hittie and Nils.
