Yellow Shells.
Min has put her skates out for the next Yule Lad…and receives two beautiful yellow shells from the beach near the Nauthólsvík Hotpot in Reykjavik (Are the shells from Iceland – apparently the sand is imported from Morocco)!

Sneaky meat-hooker.
The twelfth Yule Lad to come is Ketkrókur, the meat-hooker. He sticks his long hook down the chimney to snag the meat that is being smoke-cured in there. He arrives on December 23rd, also known as Þorláksmessa in Iceland.

Quimper Hittys 
Wouldn’t that be annoying to find a whole joint gone up the chimney. But I guess the Lads have to eat just like everyone else.
They are professional pilferers it seems. The Argentine girls are more than a bit annoyed to find their entire roasted goat missing.

Thanks! I am glad you have enjoyed the visits from the Yule Lads – only one more Lad to go, then it is Christmas! Min has been very lucky to avoid the sack of potatoes, and grateful to have not come to the attention of the Christmas cat.
What a wonderful series, I’ve been enjoying it so much! I do admit, it has made me hungry more than once… I need to sneak out now and try to find some smoked meat myself here…
