Berries, Finland
It has been noted that Constance seems to be very fond of berries…this is true. Constance was very happy that we were able to eat fresh berries in Finland every single day except one. The wild berries were plentiful and the ones we ate were delicious. We regretted that we did not venture far enough North to taste fresh-picked wild cloudberries, or lingonberries, and we didn’t taste the the juniper berries.

The wild strawberries were most delectable and a perfect Hitty snack..
.
But we did find a patch of wild raspberries!
.
.
It didn’t take Constance long to fill her lap with berries again.
.
While on the hunt for blueberries, Constance spotted a little creature.
.
.
Constance invited the wood rat to share the blueberry bounty…I think he likes her…

What a delightful wood rat. Constance is very tolerant of all creatures, to share her berries with a wood rat.
Constance thinks that not sharing the blueberries found in the wood, with a wood wood rat, would be churlish.
I confess that Constance is a better person then me…..I fear I would not want to share with a wood rat…but he is a rather cunning little fellow. And kudos to Constance for her generous nature!
This is a sweet little harmless wood rat. Constance love him because he is wood, and smooth, and has the sweetest little paws, and shares her love of berries!
Those berries look delicious, however, not so sure about Juniper berries – I need to ask Constance if
they are edible. I think that wood rat wants to be friends with Constance. He seems so friendly.
All the berries we tasted were sweet and delicious…I have seen Juniper Berries in teas, and of course they are the flavour that goes into gin, (which we have not tasted).
