Tartan Day

More Plaid

More Plaid

A particularly interesting celebration for Mungo today – April 6th is Tartan Day!!!  Mungo says there is no such thing as too much plaid.

.

This year is the 694th anniversary of the signing of the  Declaration of Arbroath…and this year people of Scotland will be participating in a referendum vote to decide the question of independence.

  1. Go Mungo! Where would we be without the Quimper Hittys informing us as to what day it is? It’s always interesting and pleasant to say the least. Thank you.

  2. Who knew about Tartan Day??!!! Mungo looks so pleased with himself. And of course one can never get enough of Mungo and his kilt!! Thank you for the education on Tartan Day and the upcoming vote.

    • Tartan Day was never before celebrated in the Quimper Hitty cupboard, but Mungo had something to say about that. He’s been regaling us with pipe tunes all day – we especially like “Mist covered Mountains”. We ate his second favourite Scottish food today as well – porridge, since we couldn’t find any Haggis Chips today! Click here to listen to “Mist Covered Mountains”

  3. Mungo looks stunning in kilt fabrics, so Tartan Day is so fitting. Of course, one can never get enough of plaid. It is so pretty.
