Blue Plaited Twill
Another morning at the loom, and Constance is as usual ready to help. We are still working on the plaited twill warp, but instead of an all yellow weft, today we are going for blue …
…we are pleased with the way the contrasting colours accentuate the plaited pattern …

The orange stripe is marking the end of my friend’s weaving, she used the warp blue as her weft. My weaving is above the orange with the darker blue weft. Constance is pointing to the first 16 row pattern repeat.

Many sustaining cups of tea have rested here.

The guardian of the bobbins does an excellent job despite appearances…

About 2 1/2 hours of weaving and we’ve finished the second of three!

amazing….just amazing. Love the blue…love Constance and her ready assistance. Love the Guardian of the Bobbins….cleverly pretending to be snoozing but really on high alert! How lovely that Constance’s person has a friend who is a fellow weaver. I am trying quite hard to NOT be envious. Thank you again for a lovely interlude.
We find weaving a delightful pastime – very satisfying to make cloth out of string, and a bonus to have such helpful felines and small wooden persons.
Beautiful – Constance is to be commended!
Constance always helps!
That’s the most beautiful towel! What pleasure you will have in using it! 🙂
Thank you – we will enjoy it, unless we give it away!
Gorgeous!
Thank you! A good morning’s work!
well done Constance, the dark blue weft shows up the plaited twill nicely. every weaver should have a kitty and frequent cups of tea.
We all agree about the tea and cats!
What a lovely pattern! Constance is a great helper and guide.
Thank you – projects are easier when Constance is around!
It is absolutely beautiful!
Thanks very much – we like it a lot!
Constance just loves to sew and help her humans. What a great hitty she is.
She keeps me good company, doesn’t complain, admires my work – whatever I am doing it is worth bringing her along!
This is awesome – and the bobbin keeper is doing her job ’cause the bobbins are still there. 🙂
Constance is always helpful, but Julia is good company too!
