Tatty and the Cyclamen
Cyclamen flowers are blooming! Tatterdemalion Butternut has never seen such a pretty swath of flowers in all her life…
.
.
After a hot dry summer when the plant is dormant, the leaves and flowers sprout from a tuber, each on its own stem. We just found out that tips of leaf stems curl upwards, while tips of flower stems curl downwards…how amusing!
.
.
They seem to be able to grow in gravel as well as in the flower beds. ..

Tatty’s new favourite flower!

I love to see pictures of Hittys with flowers!
Just under the three “related” pictures is a line of “tags” Did you know that when you click on the tag that says “flowers”, you get all the Quimper Hitty flower pictures that I’ve attached that “tag” to? you could look at Hittys and flowers all day if you wanted to! They are continually getting into flowers!
Hello Tatty! I love cyclamen too, especially the little curly tips.
Roberta and mary N-Q-Hitty
I just read about the leaf and flower tip curls this morning – isn’t nature intriguing?
Tatty has such a delighted look on her face. Her delight is infectious.
She is young, and fresh, and amused by everything – It is a delight for me to see things through her eyes!
I really like the way her hair is styled! So cute!
Thanks – she Tatty doesn’t mind that it is slightly asymmetrical but still tidy…
Oh, how exquisite! Thank you again, for this lovely moment of natural (and dolly) beauty!
You are welcome – we love these flowers but are trying to ignore the fact that they herald the coming of fall.
Lovely photos and a lovely Hitty. We do not have these flowers around here so this was very interesting. Thank you for sharing the info and the beauty.
I have seen them as quite pretty houseplants : http://www.guide-to-houseplants.com/cyclamen.html Usually their flowers are larger than the wild ones, but no less interesting!
We love Tatty too – she’s fun to have around!
Tatty is really enjoying the flowers. They are so pretty.
They really are lovely, and grow in such profusion in in some places.
