Tansy Shovels Snow
Tansy was a more than gracious house guest and helped her host family shovel snow last weekend.
Another blast of winter struck Winnipeg, depositing 4-6 cm of snow…Tansy helped clear the pathways and then took a well-deserved break, when her obliging host gave her a ride in the snow scoop.
After the paths were cleared there was a nice little hill for Tansy to slide down…she wanted to get a picture with a thermometer outside on a cold night, but the ones in the house didn’t go low enough. It felt like -41, on the very coldest day last week.

By the next day about 10 cm more had fallen. By time the snow plows came and cleared the roads, the snow hills were high enough that they blocked the view to the street, and from the perimeter highway the city snow dump was growing so much it looked a scenic view of snow capped mountains had appeared on the prairie landscape.

Tansy’s shoveling snow is setting a good example for the rest of us who may think our joints feel rather wooden too. Thanks to all who are helping us view her adventures in Winnipeg.
I am glad she is being a helpful guest – snow-shovelling is still a novelty to her!
Little Tansy looks like a small arctic explorer. One almost expects to see her being menaced by a polar bear.
What a dear houseguest to help with something as taxing as shoveling snow. I do like her color coordinated shovel!
It sure looks cold there – eh? I am so glad I packed the proper clothes when I sent her off on her adventure.
Hope Tansy is warm in her clothes – those scenes sure look COLD !!!!
Tansy’s goal was to experience a Canadian Prairie winter – she certainly got her wish! She is warm – her host is taking good care of her and plying her with cups of tea when it gets too awful outside!
