Flapjacks
Someone’s favourite food!…..
While Mungo admires the front of box, Agathe and Opal discover a recipe on the back!
.
.
The girls and Mungo are inspired!
.
.
…a giant stack of Butter…
.
.
A little hill of brown sugar!
.
.
Lovely sticky syrup.
.
.
This is the magic ingredient…
.
.
The girls suggested an apron for the really messy part…
.
.
…and they all shared a Flapjack treat for afternoon tea!!

Down on the “to-bake” list, though we freely admit to our own baking frenzy this afternoon and in no “real” need of further temptations. These look scrumptious. Thank you for the recipe!
I am always happy when the Hittys get baking – something delicious is the usual result! What resulted from your baking frenzy?
We managed two loaves of banana bread, and two loaves of applesauce cake made with applesauce put up the day before. But today…either flapjacks or oatcakes! Thank you, again!
Mungo looks positively wracked with desire in that last picture! I wish I was visiting you today… maybe they would invite *me* for tea. Sigh.

Mungo could hardly contain himself until the picture was taken, but he is sleeping it off now, and dreaming of stone-put and caber-toss! They would all love it if you came for tea!!
Yum, I want to come over for tea too. If only I were not chained to a desk right now…
The Hittys will save you some!
Those flapjacks look delicious. I am going to try that recipe with my Quaker Old Fashioned Oats. I am going to do it this weekend. Here we call pancakes, flapjacks. Such great photos, and Mungo and the girls are so involved in the whole affair.

I wonder who Jack was, and whether he was in a flap because cakes were being griddled or because oatmeal was being baked?
what an eye opener…I have lived these many decades without knowing a flap jack was NOT a pancake!!! You have educated me properly, Thank you. And yes Mungo looks the perfect Scots lad.
I think a flapjack can be a pancake or an oat bar…it just depends on geography!
