Tansy Remembers Summer
Tansy is finding the dark and damp November a little trying…to cheer herself up she has been reminiscing about the fun she had at the End of Summer Fair put on by the Saanich Historical Artifacts Society!
She liked looking at the bits of old restored machinery cranking and flailing – the threshing machine made quick work of the oat sheaves! Ah the warm summer afternoon, the short sleeves, and the sound of chugging engines!
The small model trains were fascinating, including this dissected model…
Fortunately no heat, cinders or smoke were forthcoming as she peered down the smokestack!
She enjoyed lounging upon old automobiles with curiously anatomical features.
And thought briefly about starting a new career as a hood ornament…
…but a dance with the littlest human in the family, reminded her that being a doll is a pretty good job after all…
.

In this rainy and dark day you made me happy and it was great joy to watch them… Thank you dear Lady, Have a nice day, love, nia
It is a good thing to remember that dark days are part of the whole cycle of the year… and the lovely summer will come back!
I agree with Nia, lovely to have some fun on a dreary and cold day with an inquisitive Hitty.
Tansy does like to peer into things, and explore! The rest of the Quimper Hittys like to hear about her exploits!
Sweetly familiar and comforting.
Thanks! We enjoyed the day, and enjoyed remembering it!
I love that picture of Tansy dancing – she clearly had a very gòod time.
She certainly did – it is an honour to be dance partners with an enthusiastic small human!
The Tansy dance made my heart sing, and lit up a cold and snowy November morning. Thank you for your sunshine and happy dances!
We are glad – Tansy and I – and she especially likes the name Tansy-Dance!
So glad Tansy found something to help cheer her up….we too find dark damp and grey November very trying as well. What a lovely place to visit.
It was a day of rustic (and rusting) fun!
You and Tansy are lucky duckies to have such a wonderful little dancer in the family. Adorable!
She’s a little whirling twirler – round and round (and she knows the difference between a Hitty and other kinds of dolls – definitely a genius!)
The hood ornament photo took some great imagination. How fun! Tansy has many great ideas!
She does often seem to find ways to get a unique view of the situation!
We are very happy that Tansy did NOT choose a career as a hood ornament as we would all miss her dreadfully! Love the pic of the smallest human dancing about. Made me smile. Thank you for brightening the day!
Tansy decided she would miss us too, though travelling around at the front of an antique car was quite an alluring idea.
Even though it does not get very cold where we are – in Las Vegas – Tansy’s pictures are very refreshing, especially during these dreary days in your part of the world.
We don’t get too cold here either, just dark and wet! The warm sunny summer is a good thing to remember in the glum weather of November.
