Hittys on Kitty Islet
It was a beautiful sunny day on the weekend, and Tatty and Carline hadn’t been outside for ages, so the human tucked them into her pocket for a trip to the sea shore. They spent a couple of hours being the Hittys of Kitty Islet!
They found some really enormous barnacles clinging to the rocks like stalactites,
And some little barnacles, mussels, limpets and sea anemones in the tidepools.
A pretty little wild duck scooted past…
And two friendly little ducks swam right up looking for some crumbs!

The girls look stunning in their red outfits! We love the knit skirt with the hearts on it!
Thank you – that skirt used to be a knitting swatch made by the daughter of the family, until I got hold of it!
!! Oh those wee duckies. What, there’s no duck run in the back yard? The Hitties could have duck eggs!
M-m-m Duck eggs!
Sigh…. we miss the ocean so much! It is such a treat to be able to visit the barnacle pools vicariously through the Hitty girls’ adventures…. bliss…. pure bliss! Thank you!
We are happy to be helping to increase the bliss quotient of the world!
Marie Claire offers her expertise on all things poultry if the girls need any advice in the future.. Great photos…for those of us in the land locked Midwest seeing your ocean, tide pools, shore…is great fun. And of course getting to see the girls exploring is an added treat!
I used to live in the mid west, I remember blizzards in winter and pontoons on the lake in summer, but no ducks! The Quimper Hittys will certainly consult Marie Claire if they decide to go into poultry-keeping.
What a fun day. The ducks were beginning to bond with the girls. So sad, they could not be hitty pets.
Our back yard is practically a duck pond in winter!
