More Tulip Problems
Oh no! Another sick Tulip!
What is going on?? Opal has found a little book which might help.
They both think this big book might also be better used as a reference instead of as a coaster…
The consensus is that drastic measures need to be taken – repotting into a pot with drainage is the best hope…
The rest of the bulbs seem OK…so far.

Sorry to hear about the passing of the bulb…we were given some nearly open potted tulips and they never opened! Perhaps the QHs, through “purple thumb” research, could find some answers. : )
We are beginning to find this tulip-growing adventure a bit disheartening…maybe we will stick to cut tulips in the future 😦
We owned a copy of that book once upon a time! Best of luck with the remaining bulbs, dear Quimper Hittys. Your hard work and attention surely will reap a harvest!
We are trying, but this is perhaps confirming my opinion that houseplants and I are not meant to spend a lot of time together.
Good problem solving, Hittys! Wishing you blooming tulips soon! Ann
We will persist, but I will just go out and buy some if all else fails.
I hope that the drainage change will solve the tulip problems 🙂
We hope so too!
I chuckled over the tea/coffee stain on the big book….coaster indeed! Poor Hittys….they do seem to be quite determined to salvage those tulips. I suspect that switching to a pot with drainage will be the answer. Looking forward to seeing them bloom. Ours (outside)are up about 6″ but no buds yet. Great photos as always!
We hope this works! Poor Agathe and Opal are fairly patient, but this is getting to be a very trying experience, especially as the tulips outside are already in bloom!.
