Lily of the Valley
Constance was invited for tea at the home of a relative who has Lily of the Valley flowers growing in rafts around the house…
It’s a really beautiful flower, and smells lovely too, but all parts of the plant are poisonous, even the water it stands in!

I love Lily of the Valley and had no idea that the water in the vase becomes poisonus- thank you so much for the heads up on that! They are a lovely Hitty sized flower, aren’t they, though? And, oh the sweet perfume…. 🙂
Good info to have thank you .. Speaking of totally poisonous flowering plants..the Hittys and I planted several castor beans. We managed to grow one last year and it was a tropical giant! This year we planted six seeds…
will let you know if we have any success.
Lillies of the valley are beautiful flowers. good to know that parts of them are poisonous.
I read a mystery story once where the bad guy made use of that fact! My mother always warned me about castor seeds – they are so pretty, but deadly!
That is such a lovely picture of Constance – I think she outshines the lilies which of course are beautiful themselves.
Sometimes the light is just right – good thing the Hitty’s favourite photographer had his phone along on this trip!
