Aran
It is always nice to walk home from work with a Hitty in my pocket…Hatty wore her favourite blackberry-patterned dress, and pleated pinafore, but didn’t bring a wrap because it was a lovely sunny day when we left for work.
There are neverendingly interesting things to see, and discover…we thought the blossom trees were finished, but today we found a street with pink petalled trees.

In Victoria, people sometimes leave useful things in boxes on the sidewalks…we found this one about ten minutes from the Hitty cupboard.
…we couldn’t believe what was inside!
We found a number of sparkly, low-cut gowns for a well-endowed plastic doll, which we left behind…but also this amazing hand-knit Aran sweater outfit!
Hatty says the clothes go perfectly with her blackberry dress because it has blackberry-stitch pattern all over it! It also has honeycomb, and cable stitches on the front of the jumper and the matching knitted skirt (not shown), and moss-stitch for the hat (and a marvellous huge pompom on top). We both agreed that the best part of the outfit is the pair of blackberry-patterned socks!
The human feels they are slightly too big for Hatty as the jumper goes down to her knees and the socks are as long as her entire leg, but Hatty says that’s nonsense! She thinks they are perfect the way they are – and we found them at the perfect moment because it suddenly started to rain!

Cool way to end a day of work!…and keep warm!! Hatty looks great… What a fun way to “recycle”…the word takes its true meaning! Yeah! Victorians!!!!
I like the tradition and it seems to be respected so there isn’t too much garbage left lying abandoned! Hatty was overjoyed, she says she had the luck of the Irish!
Wow! What a find! I think she looks lovely in her new find. Perhaps the Hitty’s Humans could try to recreate the sweater in a smaller scale?!?!?! 😊😊😊
Beautiful flowers – we aren’t quite there yet in New England…
Maybe – I think I am a pattern only knitter so far, but maybe I could venture out into the great unknown of knitting by feel!
What a lovely and serendipitous find for Hatty. Your days are full of wonder.
We just keep our eyes and our hearts open and wonders appear!
Hatty found buried treasure for sure. She looks adorable from head to toe. The hat is delightful and if the socks go all the way up her legs she could call them leggings.
Hatty’s smile reminds me of the Mona Lisa’s. Hum…wonder if the Mona Lisa found the perfect outfit too…could it be that’s why she is smiling?????
Leggings, that’s what they are! Mona Lisa is so serene, and pleasant, a good role model for the quieter Hittys, though the Block Twins are not impressed.
What a delightful treasure trove! My goodness! You were and are in the right place at the right time!!! Perfect!
We were very much in the right place! I hope the grandma who knitted the set will somehow know how much they are appreciated!
What a lucky Hitty to find a free outfit that is a good fit!
Hatty is very lucky, and since everyone shares, some of the other Hittys in the family might get to wear them too!
wonderful find, Hatty looks warm and cozy. The leggings will come in handy in the winter. The blossoms are spectacular this year.
Hatty was glad to find them just as a bit of cooler weather seemed to arrive!
Wow, your cherry blossoms are early!
That is a wonderful find – fancy that fabulous aran, just perfect for the colder weather.
The Hittys will definitely get a lot of wear out of the fabulous aran, perhaps not too many more chances this year, but next fall for sure!!
Lucky Hatty!! What a wonderful surprise. I think she looks cuddly and quite pleased with herself.
I love her blackberry print dress and that sweet pleated pinny.
Hatty is very pleased with herself, and she is very toasty warm in her new warm jumper. She loves it even though it almost completely covers her dress and pinny!
